CHRISTMAS STAMP-A-STACK

Following is a Christmas card that I created for my Christmas Stamp-A-Stack class. Although it is difficult to see in the photo, the reindeer and snowflake are very sparkly. It was a lot of fun making this card with the ladies that attended the class.

All products used are Stampin' Up!

Christmas Card

I saw this card at a Team Meeting I went to over the summer. I used the Stampin' Up! Elegant Bouquet Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Then I took the Stampin' Pastels and a sponge dauber over the raised portion of the flowers and vines and then used a Stamping Sponge around the edges of the Whisper White cardstock.

The stamped image is from the All Holidays stamp set (Item #114916 on page 43 - $34.95 - 12 piece stamp set). Dazzling Diamonds is used to highlight the first letter of each word in the image.

"NO FRILLS" Scrapbook Class

I don't know if anyone has ever heard of a "No Frills" Scrapbook Class, but I just had my first. The idea of the class is to make six 12 x 12 layouts (3 matching sets) where I provide the paper, stamps, ink, and the idea for the layout. You bring your own embellishments and work it into the layouts however you wish. It's a great way to use some of those odds and ends you have laying around the house.

I did not get a photo of the ladies that attended, but in the photos below you can see one of the layouts using the "Sunshine Garden" Scrapbook Kit with the self adhesive die cuts - both from Stampin' Up!, both retired. The first photo shows the layout prior to embellishing - and then you can see it after I embellished mine with my Stampin' Up! embellishments. Next time I will take a photo of everyone's embellished layouts so that you can see how different they all looked even though we started with the same layout. It was great fun and I hope you try it sometime.

Before

After - added a few rhinestone brads, ribbon, stamped image from the Fun & Fast Notes set.

PATTI'S WORKSHOP ON 10/18/09

Well I do believe a good time was had by all at Patti's Stampin' Up! Workshop this past Sunday. I demonstrated the Lattice Die Cut and a couple of Textured Impressions folders as well as the Stampin' Pastels (Amy was the lucky lady who won the door prize for the pastels - she loves her blender pens and learned a new way to use them with the pastels).

We created two make-n-takes using Stampin' Up! products such as cardstock, punches, inks, and die cuts with the Big Shot. You can see Amy and Mary and Rina and Tammi holding up the make-n-takes below.

Thanks to all the wonderful ladies that attended (and those that were not able to attend, but placed orders). Becuase of your orders Patti earned some really great hostess sets and free product.

If you are interested in hosting your own workshop, feel free to contact me at abay12@verizon.net

I tried something new today. I took the layout of a card I saw on Dawn Mcvey's site http://dawnmcvey.typepad.com/ and part of another card that I saw on Amy Rohl's site http://www.inkaboutme.blogspot.com/ and came up with this card.

I really love the Melon Mambo and Chocolate Chip DSP color combination (for those of you that are new to Stampin' Up! lingo, DSP stands for Designer Series Paper - page 161 of the 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog).

I hope you enjoy the card.

This morning I decided I was going to start my day with a cup of coffee and Stamping School - http://www.stampingschool.com/. I joined Stamping School a few weeks ago, but I have not had the time to create any of the projects. So this morning I took my cup of coffee, turned on the computer, went straight to Stamping School, breezed through some of the classes and decided to make this very pretty card.

The techniques used to make this card were misting, spritzing, distressing and sponging.

Stay tuned this week for more ideas from Stamping School.

At last night's Stamp-A-Stack class, Liza decided to change things a bit and created a card for her husband. She traded the flowerpot image for the golfer and then started coloring and look at the great card she came up with. Card making is new to Liza, in fact it was the second class that she took with me.

Look at how proud Liza is of her card. You did a great job.

Today I'd like to share with you an invitation I made recently. I saw the flower pot card and instructions on Stephanie Luman's blog here http://sluman.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2009/01/25/flower-pot-pocket-card/ and I also saw the sunflowers on Tabitha Davis' blog here http://www.injoytoday.blogspot.com/
Once I saw that card I thought it would be a cute idea to put them together for an invitation for the guests I was inviting to my Block Party. I later thought about napkin ring holders and created those as well. Everyone that recieved an invitation commented on how beautiful they were. My cousin told me that she put a magnet behind her invitation and put it on her refrigerator. What a nice idea and knowing that someone has done that with something I've made makes the idea of homemade invitations all the more worthwhile.
I hope you have an opportunity to make them for yourself.
All of the products used are Stampin' Up!. Please feel free to email me with any questions about the products used for this project at abay12@verizon.net.
Stay well.

After a quiet summer, today I kicked off my first class for the Fall. Melissa, Patti, Tammi and Rina were over for a scrapbook class in my basement studio. Tonight we created a two page 12 x 12 layout with a matching card.
We all had a great time with good company and lots of chocolate.
