Christmas Day - 2010

Merry Christmas!!!!!

Cristina - Christmas morning 2010.

This is my dining room table for Christmas Day.
There were 10 of us in total.  We are a small family now that my parents and grandparents are gone, but I know they were looking down on us with joy and happiness knowing that we were together at Christmas.

Our tree above is much smaller this year because we did not cut it down ourselves.   On December 5th, we took a ride to Briermere's for Christmas pies (they were delicious) and attempted to find our tree out here in Long Island (we normally travel north for our tree, but we were out east this year instead)The trees out here in Long Island were very bare so we came back home and bought it at the local firehouse (see photos below of the bare/small trees).

December 4, 2010 - A Day in New York City

The photos below are from our visit to the city on December 4th.  We are only 35 minutes (by Long Island Rail Road) to Manhattan.  We took my husband's family to visit Santaland at Macy's and visited the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree.  We took a subway ride (F train), ate NYC pretzels and walked around since it was not all that cold out.  Later we went back home to my house in Lynbrook and celebrated my husband, Charlie's 60th birthday.

Charlie & Cristina window watching at Macy's in Herald Square.
Macy's has the best windows every year.

Cristina lighting a candle at St. Patrick's Cathedral in honor of her
Grandparents (my Mom & Dad) and her Great-Grandparents (my grandparents).

Here we are at Rockefeller Center.  Notice the look on Charlie's face - he's telling his sister to hurry up and take the picture because other people are waiting to take a photo in the same spot.  He doesn't realize yet (at the age of 60) that if you just smile, the photo taking process goes a lot quicker (LOL)!

Riding the "F" Train.

And here we are back home where Charlie is getting ready
to blow out the candles on his 60th birthday cake.

Be back later with some Christmas cards.
